CAA AUCTION AT BONHAMS TODAY.

The prestigious auction house, BONHAMS will hold an important CAA auction today in London.

THE SEVEN SINS OF MAN AND WITCHES CAMP: Almighty God, 81 x 121 cm. Estimate 5 300 – 7 900 USD.

The top lots of the sale include works by Gerard Sekoto, Ben Enwonwu, Vladimir Tretchikoff, Irma Stern and Jacob Pierneef.

The individual top lots each have an estimated value between 39 000  to 200 000 USD.

YAM FARM: Ato Delaquis, acrylic on canvas, 73.5 x 91.5 cm. Estimate 6 600 – 9 300 USD

Other West African artists included in the sale (apart from Ben Enwonwu) include Aboudia  Abdoulaye Diarrassouba, Amadou Sanogo, Ouattara Watts and Dominique Zinkpe.The works of several Ghanaian artists will also be available. They are Ablade Glover, Ato Delaquis, Owusu-Ankomah and the artist known as Almighty God

AT PRAYER: Ablade Glover, oil on canvas, 103 x 152 cm. Estimate 6 600 – 11 000 USD

Engravings and metal foil reliefs by the Nigerian master, Bruce Onobrakpeya and an oil painting on canvas, “Unity” ( estimated at 33 000 – 40 000000 USD) provide eclectic balance to the sale.  

There are a total of 135 lots available.

Collectors and gallerists will eagerly await the auction results as these will impact on the value of CAA as a capital asset.

THE NEW AGE: Kwesi Owusu-Ankomah, acrylic on canvas, 101 x 75 cm. Estimate 4 000 – 6 600 USD.
IMAMS DISCOURSING IN ZANZIBAR: Irma Stern, gouache and watercolor, 25 x 31 cm. Estimate 13 000 – 20 000 USD.
POT WITH NARROW NECK: Mohammed Ahmed Abdalla Abbaro; porcelain stoneware, reptilian cracked surface; 62 x 43 x 43 cm. Estimate 4 000 – 6 600 USD.
