Seth Dei, the Ghanaian business man and avid supporter of the arts has broken new ground.
Many important works from his extensive collection of CAA will be offered for sale at the October 4, AFRICA NOW Auction to be held at Bonhams in London.
The registered lots from Dei’s collection are the main cachet for the Oct 4 auction at the prestigious auction house.
ESTIMATE; 5200 – 7800 USD.
It is the first time that pieces from the collection of a single Ghanaian collector are being brought to auction at Bonhams.
Bonhams, have yet again demonstrated their commitment to CAA by pioneering this effort.
They were the first auction house to have a sale dedicated to CAA in 2007.
ESTIMATE; 13 000 – 19 500 USD.
Dei’s art collection is reported to consist of over 500 works going back at least forty years.
It includes many exquisite pieces by Ghanaian masters – Bartimeus, Kotei, Glover, Anatsui and many more.
Collectors of CAA, artists and gallery owners are all eagerly awaiting the results of this landmark auction.
ESTIMATE: 5200- 7800 USD.
It is another important event that underscores the gains made by CAA on the international stage.
The auction coincides with the staging of the 1-54 fair – the premier CAA fair in the world, at Somerset House from Oct 3-7 in London.
