PORTFOLIO – 50.

KARIM ADDUCHI; MAGIC WITH NORTH AFRICAN TEXTILES.

By Damali and Nii B. Andrews.

Karim Adduchi is emphatic that his Moroccan heritage has always played a big role in his design process.

He also has an outstanding tailoring and design pedigree – both his parents were tailors in his home town of Imzouren.

Today, he is based in Amsterdam where he graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in 2015.

In a bold move, he launched his eponymous brand in the same year and has had several collections unveiled to great acclaim at prestigious fashion events.

His signature style involves the use of North African textiles.

Adduchi explains, “The fabrics, the silhouettes, the Moroccan atmosphere is always present, but always combined with the vision that is beyond myself: the combination of transforming tradition into contemporary, this is how Morocco inspires me.”

He also works as a painter and illustrator.

Fabrics need to be a part of our lives, beyond clothing. We have been looking at doing doors with fabric.
    Thanks for sharing.
